Ladakh part of j&k is 3500 meters above the sea level. This is a cool place consisting of valleys and mountains. We can see budhist monastries in this place. The increasing population of tourist in leh shows that the bank of sindhu river and peaceful atmosphere of nature is liked by people. Those people who want to have peace in the lapse of mountains away from the noise and crowd comes to leh from the month of June to September. It touches the boundaries of both china and pakistan. People here eat both Indian and Chinese food which specifies that how the cultures of two countries are mixed here. In 1979 Ladakh was divided into two parts where one part consists of budhist majority area and other part is Kargil where muslims are more.
The main city of Ladakh, Leh is famous for budhist temples and monastries. Population of leh is 12 lacs. When tourist have started coming here, many local people here have made their houses into guest houses.
